At Newport Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our extra-curricular highlights
Music Program
Our instrumental music program helps students be creative and express themselves. They learn playing techniques, intonation, sight-reading, singing, rhythm, pitch, sound quality and listening, allowing for propects of playing in specialised high school music programs and progression into highly acclaimed community orchestras.
Dance Program
Students in our dance program have performed at the Sydney North Dance Festival, the State Dance Festival, the Schools’ Spectacular, the 2000 Olympics opening ceremony and the Arts Unit’s Combined School Musicals.
Interest-based Clubs
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
