We are proud to be a public primary school located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and a part of the NSW Department of Education. Newport Public School is driven by a belief that every student is capable of successful learning based on high expectations and deep engagement. I often speak about “The Newport Way” and in my mind, is a bright, warm, welcoming and proud school, strongly build on the values of honesty, kindness and shared success that help us to co-operate and be flexible, achieve excellence, respect one another and engage with learning and life. “Every face has a place,” and everyone belongs and is made welcome.
The culture that we create together is built on an understanding that in our learning community, we all want to succeed - be that at teaching, learning, leading, parenting, sport, academics, creative and performing arts and most importantly, in having a sense purpose and being an active citizen in today’s world.
Our highly committed and involved community is dedicated to excellence in teaching and the provision of extensive sporting and performing arts opportunities which support students to develop socially, culturally and physically. In addition to the core curriculum, children enjoy success in a rich diversity of experiences including instrumental music, choir, dance, drama, chess, public speaking, debating, sailing, and a variety of other sports. The school has a cohesive mix of experienced and early career teachers, dedicated to bringing out the best in every child through the implementation of quality teaching and learning programs. The school enjoys strong community support, has an active Parents and Citizens' Association and is a part of the Peninsula Community of Schools (PCS). There is a strong ethos of inclusion, teamwork, student wellbeing and future focused learning.
